TibiaME Autumn 2007 Update - S60 3rd Edition - Video & Article

The world's first mobile phone MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), Tibia Micro Edition, has recently received an update to its game engine, and a brand new island called Ashmor which showcases the improvements in the update. You can see a gameplay video of Ashmor above, and I've written an article about the update for All About Symbian:

The update mainly deals with the way the game handles graphics. Instead of the usual fixed scenery tiles, the levels now include scenery objects laid on top of scenery backgrounds, allowing for far greater combinations of backgrounds. More importantly, the TibiaME application can now download required graphics during a game, so the developers can add new graphics without requiring players to upgrade to a new application version.

TibiaME isn't a spectacular-looking game, it's pretty much the kind of thing you might have seen on a 16-bit or even 8-bit computer, but it does have the huge advantage over all other phone RPGs which is that it's Massively Multiplayer Online. There are literally thousands of other real people in the same game world as you, all playing in real time, that you can talk to and form parties with (you can also swap objects if you want to do some trading). There's a vast game world to explore which has new content added regularly by the developers, with far more gameplay than most other phone games.

Will TibiaME work on my phone?

TibiaME is available for S60 3rd Edition, S60 2nd Edition and S60 1st Edition. To check if you can play the game on your phone, click here to see our complete guide to S60 compatibility.
