Rifts: Promise Of Power - First Gen N-Gage - Official Trailer Video

Rifts: Promise Of Power was a first party original gen N-Gage RPG, and the first ever game to use the official Rifts licence. For those who don't know, Rifts was (and still is) a popular cult pen-and-paper RPG published by the independent Palladium Books.

Rifts, like pretty much all of Nokia's later first party games, got good reviews and was popular with N-Gage fans, but virtually no one bought it as shops had stopped stocking N-Gage games by 2005, and the gaming world had lost interest in the system almost immediately after its launch in 2003.

As with the Payload trailer, it's worth noting that the Rifts trailer contains no actual gameplay footage, it's purely a pre-rendered CGI teaser.

Where to get Rifts

Rifts was released in 2005 as a gamecard, so in theory you should be able to find it second hand on Ebay. However, it's not quite as simple as that because Nokia didn't manufacture very many copies of their 2005 games, so they're relatively difficult to get hold of.

Rifts was also available to buy as a legal download from Nokia's N-Gage Shop site, but that site has now shut down.
