High Seize - First Gen N-Gage - Official Trailer Video
As the Next Gen N-Gage platform comes very very close to launching (Nokia are running a public beta test next week), the Unofficial Nokia Gaming Blog is going to take a last look back at the original generation of N-Gage, the one that was made up of the N-Gage Classic and the N-Gage QD.
The first item of this look back is the official trailer for High Seize, which you can see above. HS was an N-Gage-exclusive turn-based strategy game by RedLynx, the same people who did the acclaimed Pathway To Glory. Unlike PTG, HS takes a much more cartoonish approach to combat and looks much more like Advance Wars.
High Seize got good reviews at its launch in 2005, but like so many great N-Gage games it was ignored by the mainstream gaming world as they'd already turned their back on the system because of the botched launch in 2003.
The first gen N-Gage Arena servers have now been permanently shut down, so it seems that we will never again get the chance to play High Seize online. The offline game still works though.
Where to get High Seize
This is more difficult than you think.
High Seize was released so late in the N-Gage's lifespan that very few shops ever actually stocked it, and the number of copies manufactured was probably much lower than for earlier N-Gage games.
Ebay is your best bet, but a quick search as I post this turned up absolutely no copies of High Seize at all, neither active nor completed listings. To make matters worse, Nokia has shut down their first gen N-Gage game store, so you can no longer buy this game as a download either.
