Return To Mysterious Island for S60 3rd Edition - Video & Review

Return To Mysterious Island is a port of the PC game of the same name from 2004. It's inspired by the Jules Verne novel Mysterious Island, and is a Myst-style graphic adventure in a tropical setting. You can see my video of it above, and I also wrote a review of it for AAS which you can read at the following link:

I'm very glad to say RTMI is a player-friendly adventure game: you can't kill yourself or lock yourself out of winning. Player-friendliness is very very important in making these types of games fun, because the whole point of adventure games is to explore and try unusual solutions to difficult problems. If you are afraid of dying and don't dare explore or experiment, then you're not going to have as much fun and the point of the game is lost. In case people doubt the playability of player-friendly games, The Secret Of Monkey Island (possibly the greatest ever adventure game) is player-friendly, and even makes a joke of it with the "rubber palm trees" sequence.

Another big plus for RTMI is that there are often multiple solutions to puzzles, for example there are many ways to find food on the shore at the beginning of the game, and the island itself is also quite freeform so you have access to many puzzles at once. Multiple solutions and being able to freely move from one puzzle to another make it less likely that you'd get stuck without making the game too easy.
